Reductive stress as modulator of proteostasis, inflammation and damage response
Project A08 explores the role of reductive stress in cellular and mouse models of vascular injury and myocardial infarction of young and old mice. It will determine how reductive stress affects key cellular functions, including (mitochondrial) proteostasis, inflammation, the immunoproteasome and senescence. These findings will reveal when reductive stress occurs during vascular and cardiac injury, how it affects damage responses and recovery, and whether modulating reductive stress can improve outcomes.
