Damage-induced adaptation of GPCR signalling
Project A04 investigates how altered GPCR signalling affects cardiovascular cell populations after acute mechanical or ischemic damage. Specifically, we will address the role of two neuropeptide GPCR ligands – neurotensin and neuromedin B – in cardiac remodelling and will determine how specific receptor agonists or antagonists alter cardiac damage responses. Furthermore, we will study the mechanisms underlying damage-induced adaptation of GPCR expression and explore how pharmacological inhibition of orphan receptor dimerization affects cardiac remodelling.
