Endothelial-pericyte metabolic communication in damage control
Project B03 investigates how pericyte-dependent changes in lactate as well as lipid metabolism reprograms endothelial cells. Integrated RNA sequencing, MERSCOPE analyses and metabolomics will be used to determine how pericyte contact influence endothelial cell protein lactylation, chromatin configuration and function. The impact of disrupted endothelial cell-pericyte communication on endothelial cell metabolism and gene expression will be assessed in a model of pericyte depletion and as well as in diabetic Ins2 Akita mice at homeostasis and following myocardial infarction.
