The impact of myocardial infarction on neurocardiac interactions
The impact of MI on cardiac innervation in the aging heart is still elusive. WP1 investigates cardiac innervation patterning and ganglionic remodelling post-MI. WPs 2-3 analyse the intercellular interactions between endothelial/immune cells and neurons in the heart and stellate ganglia. KO mice, transcriptomics, and local interventions are used to assess their influence on neuronal functionality. This study will elucidate the cellular and molecular mechanisms underlying maladaptive sympathetic remodelling after MI.
